Was David Wenham a good choice?: Despite the differences between Book!Faramir and Movie!Faramir, I think David did a really good job. Now that I think about it, he was the perfect Faramir...I can't imagine anyone else playing him. And goddamn you people, Movie!Faramir was not that much of a bastard. Besides, it's nice seeing people go nuts over the ring, isn't it? Frodo is at his best when he's ranting about how the ring is HIS, dammit! Er...but I digress. People wonder if David could have played the "real" Faramir - i.e.; the Faramir that Tolkien wrote. Personally, I think he could. For those who doubt, we can see in The Return of the King; and The Two Towers extended edition, for that matter. Ethan Hawke was actually rumoured early on to have the role of Faramir - but, no offense to the great Mr. Hawke, but I don't think anyone could have done Faramir better than David Wenham!
