Emotions

One of the things about Eowyn that everyone seems to notice is her sorrow and despair. The life she is leading is not one she wants to be living. She feels as if she's trapped, and she would rather die in battle with honor than wither away with age behind locked doors. Some would call her suicidal; personally, I think it was just the time that she was living in and the life she was living. In her eyes, there was no hope; Rohan would fall, and if she had to die, she would rather die with honor. Eowyn doesn't express emotion easily, either - she's described as "stern", and people find it hard to believe that she would actually cry. However, she is not stone-hearted. She falls in love with Aragorn when she first meets him, but that relationship is doomed from the start. She doesn't tell him outright that she loves him, however. She expresses it in different ways, and the closest thing she ever says to "I love you" is how his men follow him out of love. She knows Aragorn doesn't love her, and that the romance is doomed. She is also quite frusterated; she hates how everyone pities her. This hurts her, because she does not WANT to be pitied. That's the last thing she wants. Obviously, she loves Faramir; he's perfect for her, in my opinion. He understands her, while many other don't; furthermore, he is able to look past the pity that almost everyone feels for her. Besides, she marries the guy - and this is Eowyn were talking about, here. She could barely express emotion for Aragorn, who some people say is the love of her life, and she MARRIES Faramir. That in itself speaks volumes.
