Faramir is one of the more interesting characters in Lord of the Rings, one of the wisest of men [only surpassed by Aragorn] and kindest, as well. He is the only person who is able to look for the pity that almost everyone feels for Eowyn, and see something else other than sorrow in her. He is a very sensitive and wise person, but some people hate him for this - like, his own father. I would have to say that Faramir is one of my favorite characters in Lord of the Rings, and I, personally, felt more pity for him than Eowyn!
